What are... "Dawdlers"?

Inspired by the avalanche of great pop music coming from Britain and its Commonwealth since The Beatles started that train down the tracks, and much American music in turn inspired by it, The Dawdlers are classic melodic pop specialists, expert in the genre created during the British Invasion period by, in greatest part, The Beatles, and then extended and refined by artists of the next generation like Elton John & Peter Gabriel, and followed by Squeeze, Elvis Costello, Paul Young, The Police & Sting, The Pretenders, U2, Split Enz, Crowded House, Men At Work and INXS from the New Wave period of the late 1970's and early-mid 1980's. More recent British artists covered are Oasis, Radiohead, Coldplay, Keane, and Amy Winehouse, as well as British Invader forebears Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Dave Clark Five, The Zombies, Badfinger, and, of course, The Beatles themselves.

The Dawdlers also play many complementary tuneful songs by "harder" groups like Bad Company and Filter, and by American artists like Cheap Trick, Marshall Crenshaw, Boston, Kacey Musgraves, Los Lobos, The Stray Cats, Shawn Colvin, Prince, Hall & Oates, John Mayer, The Bangles, and Guster (and they even do one by The Monkees!).
